Last project meeting hosted by the German Partner Wisamar in Leipzig

The last transnational partner meeting of the project took place in Germany on the 6th and 7th of July 2022. This time, the host was German partner, Wisamar, who welcomed the representatives of Osengo from France and Fonix AS from Norway to Leipzig, Germany.

At this meeting, the partners summarised what has been achieved so far and which aspects still need to be addressed to bring the project to a successful end.

During the project, we were able to implement the following things:

  • Providing best practice examples on the topic of blended learning.
  • Producing a manual on “How to create a blended learning course from scratch”.
  • Provision of a blended learning course that interactively explains the topic of blended learning on an LMS platform.

We are grateful for all the feedback along the way and hope you will use our material to provide your students with the best possible learning experience.

Teacher training event in beautiful Sandefjord, Norway, hosted by our Norwegian Partner Fonix AS

The training event took place in Sandefjord, Norway, from the 5th to the 7th of April, 2022. The participants were trainers and teachers associated with the project partners from France, Norway, Italy, Lithuania and Germany.

What happened during this training?

In the three-day training, vocational education and training teachers were presented with the material developed so far and the associated learning platform. The participating teachers, who come from the countries of the partner organisations, give feedback on these two modules and thus give us an impression of where adjustments still need to be made and what is already working well.

Afterwards, the participants had the opportunity to transform an existing course from practice according to the flipped classroom method and exchange ideas with colleagues from other European countries.

Second in-person meeting hosted by our Lithuanian Partner EU-Trade

The third transnational partner meeting of the project took place in Lithuania on the 24th and 25th of February 2022. This time, the host partner was the Lithuanian partner, EU-Trade, who welcomed the representatives of Osengo from France, Fonix AS from Norway, Euroform RFS from Italy and Wisamar from Germany to Vilnius.

On day one, the participants once again met with local stakeholders. They discussed the ongoing that the pandemic caused on VET teaching and training in general. Although the situation is demanding, blended learning is one of the best options to deliver valuable training.

On the second day, we discussed the learning materials we have almost finished to ensure their usefulness for the VET professionals. We also discussed the organisational needs of the upcoming training event that will take place in Norway at the beginning of April and created the schedule for it.

Project result 1 is ready – Research on and best practice of blended learning courses

What is it about?

This project result provides a broad overview of Blended-Learning as a teaching method. We give an overview of its essentials, helpful tools, characteristics, and, last but not least, the best practices of the five partner countries (France, Germany, Italy, Lithuania, and Norway).

It also works as a database of the findings from the research we conducted that lays the foundation for the handbook for implementing the Blended-Learning approach, which is the second project result of the BlendedVET-project.

What is the relevance?

By gathering extensive data, including many concrete examples from all over the EU, we offer the opportunity to learn from organisations that have successfully implemented Blended-Learning into their educational framework. With the pandemic being an enormous factor that led to the development of new teaching approaches, there is a strong push toward eLearning. Now every teacher willing to implement the Blended-Learning approach can profit from these best practices and use the information we provide to successfully transform their lessons according to the Blended-Learning approach. Using these resources, they are set up for future occasions where they find eLearning provides the best learning experience.

Who is it for?

This research database is aimed at trainers and educators who work in adult education, mainly for educators who work in vocational and educational training and want to implement the Blended-Learning approach to their lessons.

First in-person meeting hosted by our Italian Partner Euroform RFS

The second transnational partner meeting of the project took place in Italy on the 26th and 27th of October 2021. The host partner this time was the Italian Partner partner Euroform RFS, who welcomed the representatives of the Frech and Norwegian partner organisations to Torino.

On day one, the participants met local teachers and discussed the challenges of teaching during the pandemic and how blended learning modalities could help cope with the current situation where face-to-face lessons are not feasible.

The participants also made some final adjustments to the result of the first project output – research on and best practice examples for blended learning courses. We will soon publish the output – so stay in touch.

On the second day, the focus shifted to the other outputs – the creation of a learning package for blended learning courses and the piloting of said learning package. Since we are right in the middle of the work on these outputs, it will take some more time until we can share our findings with you. But the partnership is on a good track and excited to share the results with you as soon as possible.

We go approved

The BlendedVET (KA2) project started in September 2020 and will last 24 months. It will focus on the topic of blended learning and will provide the following results:

  • A collection of research on best practices and methods for blended learning
  • A learning package on how to create blended learning either from scratch or by transforming existing material
  • A blended learning training program
  • A Learning Platform that contains all the findings on how to create a blended learning course presented in an interactive way

BlendedVET, aims to create online, flexible training for VET trainers willing to combine face-to-face and online instruction modalities. Blended learning has become a widespread teaching modality, especially in K-12 and higher education. The project will be an answer to helping VET teachers to transform existing training into blended learning or create blended learning training. More specifically, we aim to provide VET trainers with examples of existing blended courses to inspire them and to give them methodology and guidance for developing their blended learning course based on the training they deliver. For this purpose, we will create a learning package on blended learning and an interactive training course (so trainers can directly experience the methodology while creating their content), allowing teachers to implement the training in all VET centres and on any topic.
Our outcomes will not be topic-related but blended learning methodology related.

Based on the above, our main goals are:

  • Promoting lifelong learning of VET teachers
  • Supporting the innovative approaches and digital technologies for teaching and training

Stay with us to learn more about the project!

Project partners are Aformac from France, EU-Trade from Lithuania, Fonix AS from Norway, Euroform RFS from Italy and Wisamar from Germany.
